Our Impact on the Orlando Community

At The Nickley Group, real estate is about more than just buying and selling homes—it’s about building relationships and giving back to the community that supports us. Throughout the year, we dedicate our time and resources to initiatives that strengthen Central Florida, uplift families, and support local organizations. Here’s how we’re making a difference.

1. Supporting Education at Sadler Elementary

We believe in the power of education and the difference it can make when communities come together. This year, we partnered with XL 106.7’s Johnny Magic. Together with the Baby DJ Foundation, we supported the Central Florida Together We Can initiative. The goal? Transforming Sadler Elementary, a Title I school, into an ‘A’ school by providing the support and resources it needs to thrive.

Over Labor Day weekend, our team joined in renovating Sadler’s Teacher’s Lounge. We gave educators a welcoming space to recharge with fresh paint, new trim, brand-new cabinets, and furniture. The reactions from the teachers, who returned to this surprise after the long weekend, were priceless. Principal Rachel Mott expressed her gratitude, saying, “The transformation is absolutely beautiful, and we are beyond grateful for the amazing support and hard work that went into making this happen.”

Our contributions didn’t stop there. This fall, we kept the momentum going with a Clothing Bazaar, where team members and community members donated gently used clothes for a fun “shop-for-free” event. Leftover items filled an entire moving truck and were donated to Sadler Elementary, helping support their students and families.

2. Partnering with Beyond the Leash Foundation

Our commitment to making a difference extends to our four-legged friends. This summer, we partnered with Beyond the Leash Foundation to host and sponsor their Paws & Pints launch event at Ivanhoe Park Brewery.

Animal lovers and their pups joined us for a fun-filled day. The event featured meet-and-greets with therapy dogs, hourly raffles worth over $2,000 in prizes, and an opportunity to learn about Beyond the Leash’s mission to support first responders through therapy dog programs. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, we raised $2,453.42 to support this impactful organization.

From raffles to free dog bandanas, every detail of the event reflected the community’s love for their pets. The attendees’ willingness to come together for a cause made the day even more special. We’re proud to partner with Beyond the Leash and look forward to continuing our support for their life-changing work.

3. Advocating for Mental Health Awareness and Support

At The Nickley Group, mental health is a priority. Throughout the year, we’ve partnered with the Mental Health Association of Central Florida to raise awareness and provide resources.

This summer, we hosted a complimentary screening of Inside Out 2 for our past clients and their families, raising $1,168.48 to support the Mental Health Association. The film, which follows Riley’s teenage journey and explores new emotions, was the perfect way to spark conversations about mental health in a family-friendly setting.

Additionally, we helped with Project Cheer, transporting and storing 500+ care packages filled with essential items for those in need. Seven months later, in December, these packages were distributed to the community just in time for the holiday season.

We also had the privilege of hosting Marni Stahlman, President/CEO of the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, for a presentation on Mental Wellness in the Real Estate Industry. This session helped our team better understand the importance of self-care and mental health in a high-energy field.

4. RED Day: A Tradition of Giving Back to the Community

Every May, we participate in RED Day (Renew, Energize, Donate), Keller Williams’ annual day of service. This year, we joined forces with Second Harvest Food Bank. We spent the day sorting donations to help distribute meals to families in need across Central Florida.

RED Day is a cornerstone of Keller Williams’ culture, reminding us of the power of collective action. It’s also a meaningful opportunity for our team to strengthen bonds while coming together for a shared purpose. Whether it’s packing meals, tidying up spaces, or supporting local charities, we’re always proud to roll up our sleeves and give back.

5. Providing for Families in Need During the Holidays

The holiday season is all about giving, and our partnership with Baby DJ has become a cherished tradition at The Nickley Group. In 2023, during our Poinsettia Giveaway Holiday Party, we raised over $7,000 to support Baby DJ’s mission of providing gifts and essentials to families in need.

We also volunteer each year to help families shop for their children, ensuring they receive toys, clothing, and other items that make the holidays magical. This year, we’re excited to work with Baby DJ again and hope to surpass last year’s fundraising total.

6. Supporting Students and Teachers at the ACE School

For the second year in a row, we’re donating to a classroom at the ACE School. Each of our team members has chosen a child—23 students in total—and is purchasing necessities and toys based on their preferences. Many of these students come from underprivileged backgrounds, and this initiative ensures they have essentials and a little holiday magic.

In addition to helping the students, we’re providing school supplies for their classroom and treating the teacher to show our appreciation for their dedication and hard work. This annual tradition has become a meaningful way for our team to make a personal impact on young lives.

7. Highlighting Businesses in the Community

Supporting local businesses is a cornerstone of our community efforts. Throughout the year, we highlight over 50 small businesses across Orlando on our social media channels, from unique restaurants and coffee shops to local boutiques and service providers.

We believe local businesses are the heartbeat of our community. For example, our feature of Zymarium Meadery introduced followers to their locally sourced honey and innovative mead-making techniques, while our spotlight on Lamp & Shade Craft Cocktails and Kitchen showcased their new brunch menu and inviting atmosphere.

Ultimately, by promoting these businesses, we’re not just boosting their reach—we’re helping our community thrive.

8. Giving Back to Our Past Clients

At The Nickley Group, our clients are family, and we love finding ways to show our appreciation for their trust and loyalty. From seasonal celebrations to exciting giveaways, we’re dedicated to creating meaningful and memorable experiences for our past clients throughout the year.

One of our favorite traditions is the Annual Fall Fest at Club Lake Plantation. This event is a highlight of the season, bringing together past clients, their families, and our team for a day of fun and connection. With activities for all ages, delicious treats, exciting prizes, and plenty of opportunities to bond, Fall Fest is always a blast—and it’s completely free for our clients.

Another exciting way we give back is through our Vacation Giveaway Call-In Contest. Each year, we provide clients with a number to call and confirm their information. Just like that, they’re entered to win an incredible vacation package! Last year’s prize included:

These initiatives are more than just events or giveaways—they’re a reflection of our gratitude for the trust and support our clients show us year after year.
