The city was first settled in 1885 by Hosea C. O'Bryan and his family, who purchased a homestead on what today is called Citrus Tower Blvd. It was officially incorporated as a town in 1895 and later as a city in 1917. Minneola has grown tremendously in recent years due to its convenient location near Orlando and Clermont. It provides easy access to major highways and attractions like Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World.
The downtown area of Minneola features several shops, restaurants, and cafes, along with attractions such as the popular splash pad at Waterfront Park, where visitors can cool off on hot summer days or swim in the lake.
