Kissimmee

Kissimmee, Florida is a city located in Osceola County, just south of Orlando. It is home to over 60,000 residents and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state due to its close proximity to Disney World and other theme parks, as well as its numerous natural attractions like lakes, springs and wetlands.

Kissimmee has a rich history dating back to the mid-1800s when it began as a large cattle ranching area. Over time it became a small trading post for goods such as sugar and fruits, later on becoming an official town when postmaster Alexander Stroup set up an office there in 1873. Nowadays Kissimmee is known for its world-famous Theme Parks and beautiful views of Lake Tohopekaliga which is home to many species of fish and birds. Its downtown area is full of quaint restaurants, shops and boutiques that draw tourists from all over the country.
