Things to do this Holiday Season in Central Florida!

For many northerners, celebrating the holiday season in Florida may feel strange with it still being 80 degrees outside. But Orlando and its surrounding areas still go all out during the season with events and decorations. And bonus, you don’t have to freeze to experience it all! Here are some of our favorite events and light displays in Central Florida.

Gaylord Palms Ice!

While it is still hot in Florida, Gaylord Palms welcomes you to step into the cold, 9 degrees Fahrenheit, to be exact. Their ICE! Story is back this year with Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Walk through this Christmas classic told through hand-carved colored ice sculptures. Tickets start at $19.99 for ages 4-11 and $29.99 for ages 12+ and are selling out! Don’t miss your opportunity to experience the cold and see the fantastic work!

Night of a Million Lights

Give Kids the World Village is an amazing charity creating opportunities for kids with life-threatening illnesses to experience more than just hospital visits. Families can stay, for free, at the resort as they make memories with each other. Night of a Million Lights is a must-see for Central Floridians and visitors. As the name state, they decorate their entire village with millions of lights. They also have entertainment and festive treats to enjoy.

Lake Eola

Downtown Orlando is a great place to see some beautiful lights and get a delicious bite to eat. Take a walk around Lake Eola with your family and see the light sculptures and giant Christmas tree they have to get us into the holiday spirit. The lake is about a mile long, so be sure to wear your walking shoes! While you’re downtown, don’t forget to stop in at one of the many excellent restaurants or bars.
