Haines City

The city was founded in 1885 by brothers Benjamin and Joseph Haines. After purchasing 40 acres of land from the state government for just $1 an acre, they began to develop the area for farming purposes. The town eventually grew and developed into what we recognize today, becoming officially incorporated as Haines City in 1916.

Today, Haines City stands out among other small towns in Florida due to its unique combination of modern amenities and old-world charm. It offers plenty of things to do including shopping centers such as Eagle Ridge Mall, numerous parks like Lake Eva Park and Lake Hamilton Park where visitors can enjoy fishing or boating, golf courses like Southern Dunes Golf Club, weekly farmers markets on Fridays at Railroad Park showcasing local goods from growers around the region as well as arts & crafts vendors, wineries like Red Door Winery offering wine tasting experiences and more activities like zip lining through Cypress Gardens Adventure Park.
